History of SBP Gallery

The main attraction of the museum is Sadequain Gallery. The late Sadequain has been the best artist/painter of Pakistan. In the Governors Gallery I saw all SBP governors’ pictures and signatures and details. The first Governor of SBP was Mr. Zahid Hussain, 1948 to 1953. After him many other governors came. In the coins gallery, there were the punch mark coins of 6th century BC last coin and the coins minting machine built first coin in 1948. Then the currency gallery, there are different kind of currency notes. Then the Sadequain Gallery, the main attraction of the gallery, are, some pictures of educational icons painted by the late Sadequain. Sadequain was born in Amroha, UP India in 1930 and he was died on 1987. On the right side of it is the contemporary art gallery. Here are the pictures of freedom fighters and Quaid-e-Azam. In the main hall there was an old prize bond draw drum machine, coins minting machine, currency printing and banknotes defacing machines and one amazing thing of circular design in the main hall. The spectacular calligraphic piece was commissioned by the State Bank Officer in Peshawar and completed in 1983s and then we all took our bags and gone to bus and then we all came back our home.
